Sometimes Fiona wanted someone who didn’t judge her for her choices. She wanted someone who didn’t hate her past, feel intimidated by her present, or fear her future.

By thirty, she had lived over twenty cities. She had shed blood and burned lives. She had no hope for anything other than an existence lined with graves and loneliness.

Michael made her hope for more than that. He almost made her believe in true love and soul mates and happily-ever-afters. Then he’d hand her a gun, his fingers brushing over hers, and she believed in them.

He was everything she wanted.

OOh, I like how the longing for a different life works into the UST here. I haven't seen Burn Notice, but this makes me interested in the characters so I might have to give it a look. I used to love this kind of show before anime took over my life!
