OMG - I can't believe my prompt spawned over 20,000 words of fic! Wow! It was an idea I was excited about and I was thinking I might have written something myself, if you had picked something else to work on instead, but this surpasses anything I was thinking of!
And so tragic! I love angst, and dark fic - this goes there and kicks you a little bit more, while you're down. Fantastic!
I'm sorry I couldn't say thank you earlier - I went online when I was waiting for the shuttlebus to take me to the airport, at the end of Dragon*Con, and read it there in the hotel lobby, but then I had to fly home before I could comment.
God, poor Jack. Poor Ianto. Poor Lisa. I so wanted her to keep fighting her conditioning, because I knew that was the only thing that was keeping Ianto alive.
I especially loved the epilogue. “So even when the world was headed to hell, you managed to find someone and love him.” The Doctor turned to look at Jack with a mixture of awe and respect. “And he loved you back.” God, that sums up how I think of both the Doctor and Jack. Although, the Doctor was a bit late this time, wasn't he? :)
Wow. Thank you again. This was an awesome ending of the world.
