Nothing gets by these guys. And you should make sure you don't let these fics get away from you!

A few notes:
1. Some of the links may lead to off LJ sites.
2. Each reader is responsible for double checking warnings on the story itself. It is not my job, nor the job of anyone else, to make sure you’re aware of the contents of the story.
3. I encourage you all to leave feedback for the authors! Feed the authors and they will continue to feed us.
4. This would not have happened if it were not for the generous help of many, many people. In particular, I would like to thank
donutsweeper for making the lovely banner,
tygermama for helping to advertise and
blue_meridianfor coding the recs list.
5. If you encounter any mistakes, please drop me a note in the comments and I’ll do my best to fix it quickly.
6. Fics with multiple recs are indicated with an *.
7. Lastly, feel free to squee in the comments if you’re so inclined.

10 Years On. PG-13. Gibbs/DiNozzo. Cohabitation and kid cuteness on top of kidnapping and a bitter Tony.
Damage. FRAO. Gibbs/DiNozzo, Ensemble. Damage is the sort of story that, I'm sorry to say, is very often done poorly in fandom. It's hard to write about a topic like childhood sexual abuse without being trite or even downright offensive, even with the best of intentions. But I think Xanthe manages - so well, in fact, that parts of it might very well be triggering for some. But the story is beautifully written and told in a way that is simultaneously compassionate and completely unflinching. Two thumbs up.

Damage. PG-13. Tony/Ziva. It is a completely plausible evolution of a Tony/Ziva relationship. The characters are very well drawn, such as this line: She is vigilant in maintaining a safe emotional distance from the people around her. It is quality she and Tony share (his disguised with false extroversion, hers with controlled silence). Also, their developing relationship is written beautifully as well, such as this line: "He...remembers why pretending is so damn seductive....He remembers why pretending is so damn destructive."
Refuge. M-15. Tony/Ziva, Gibbs. This fic starts the moment Ziva is rescued from her situation at the end of S6. She faces a long, slow recovery in Gibbs's guest room, with a lot of pain and a lot of time to think. In many ways this is a far more subtle Tony/Ziva than the show gives us, and I love that although the pairing is definitely present, Ziva's relationship with Gibbs is perhaps even more central. And the writing is lovely, as is everything

In Transit. PG. Gen, Tony-centric. This is a study of Tony post-Twilight as seen through a stranger's eyes. The OC picks up on details that the team, who are closer to him, do not. It's an interesting perspective.
Ten Nonlinear Moves. K+. Ensemble. Everything by Sequitur is worth reading, but this short, lighthearted fic is one of the best. Set pre-S4, during the period where Tony is in charge of the team after Gibbs walks away, it is the story of how Tony became the team leader.
Rigil Kent wrote:
Too Late. K+. Tony/Ziva. An alternate look at how the changing Tony/Ziva dynamic in Season 6 could have worked out. Award winning fic (2009 LJ Fanfic Awards) and well worth reading for excellent writing and plot (not to mention a good dose of angst)
Transitional States. M. Tony/Ziva, Ensemble. Action, realistic romance, Competent!Tony and Ninja!Ziva, not to mention brilliant writing. [Part 1 (Things Fall Apart) and Part 2 (The Widening Gyre) are complete. There is a third arc for this universe to be added eventually.]
BrightBlue wrote 63 Seconds. PG. Tony/Ziva, background Abby/McGee. Because the characterization is so spot on that I can hear the characters saying what she's writing. Short, sweet and funny.
Annie wrote After the Storm. Adult. Gibbs/DiNozzo. Because as much as I hated it at the end, for all the tears I cried, I couldn't stop reading it. And I even saved the link, just in case I wanted read it again.
suaine wrote Caught from Some Unhappy Monster. PG-13. Ensemble/Gen. Despite my general belief that everything is better with zombies, I'd never have thought that NCIS would be high on the list of "fandoms that need more zombies," but this story works so well. Certainly, if there ever were a zombie apocalypse, I'd want Leroy Jethro Gibbs on my side!
Rather wrote Cold. Teen. Ensemble. Set in early S4 when Gibbs' memory still isn't what it should be and Tony feels he has to prove himself to Gibbs all over again. But then he gets sick.
demonqueen666 wrote The Five Stages. PG. Gen, Ensemble. This is a really great look at the characters post-Twilight. It is done with an unusual framework that really works well to set the stage for the story.
rageprufrock wrote In-Law. G. pre-slash Gibbs/DiNozzo, Ensemble. Jack [Gibbs' father] was such a wonderful character to introduce and he's perfectly IC in this fic, pushing Gibbs in all the right ways to come to terms with his feelings for Tony.
angel_negra wrote Kissing it Better. PG. DiNozzo/McGee. Written as an episode tag to "The Good Wives' Club" this fic is sweet and touching in all the right ways and it delves into Tony's insecurities and Tim's strength which is often ignore by the fandom.
halcyon_shift wrote Language Barriers. G. Gen, featuring Ziva and Tony. The banter in this fic is awesome. Plus both of the characters are written well, especially Tony's need for approval.

katy_moon_beam/WildPeace wrote The Last Unspoken Summer (Chaper 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, and Chapter 4, or on Fanfiction.net.). PG-13. Tony/Ziva. A story in snapshots of the summer that Gibbs was gone that manages to fill in the missing information in a believable way. It is an especially good look at Tony's insecurities after Gibbs left.
TaylorGibbs wrote Man Makes the Clothes. R. Gibbs/DiNozzo. It's very hot and it has all sorts of great scenes. You really need a drool bucket for this one. :D
paperflowered wrote Motion Blur. PG. Gen, Ziva-centric. It is an insightful look into Ziva's character and how her life as a spy has had a profound affect on hter thought processes. Plus it just flows very beautifully. // A look at what might have happened the summer between Season 3 and Season 4. Lovely writing and in general a very sweet and well-thought-out story.
chaletian wrote Negative Space. R. Tony/Ziva. Often Tony/Ziva fics are light, about the banter and the fun. This one is a short, but intimate, look at the angst that would be just as likely if Tony and Ziva were ever to have sex.
Sashile wrote Of Jews and Gentiles. T. Tony/Ziva, Ensemble. Brilliant writing, well thought-out case, and the evolution of a realistic Tony/Ziva relationship in an AU Season 6.
nakeisha wrote Quietness. PG. Abby/McGee. It is a great look at Abby and her connection with Tim.
tosca1390 wrote Starch. NC-17. Tony/Ziva. Because it has wonderful characterization and is seriously hot.
catwalksalone wrote Takin' a Crazy Chance. PG-13. DiNozzo/McGee. Everything from this author is worth checking out. She's a master of internal dialogue. Tony and Tim think they're being tricky but who gets the last laugh? Again, Abby and Ziva are amazing.
xparrot wrote These Things Do Happen. R. DiNozzo/McGee. Tim isn't often the oblivious one so this is unique and the handling of his shock once he gets a clue is hilarious. Abby and Ziva are priceless here.
i_lie_better wrote Three-Legged Pink Pandas. PG. Gen, featuring Ziva and Tony. This is crack in the best sense of the word. There is no real story here, but it is really funny and contains several laugh out loud moments (for me, at least!). Just a fun read.
