Fics
Author: joelawson wrote Walk With Me; Teen and up; Clay/Roque, Jensen/Cougar; This a really fantastic fic that's grim and gorgeous and taut and tense, but it manages to balance all that out with a warm spot of humor and affection that sells me on the Jensen/Cougar pairing. An absolute gripping read.

Author: entwindedangels wrote: Stories From the Same Routine (5-part series); R; Cougar/Jensen; Because it's set in that sweet spot before both the comics and the movie, so it's accessible to fans of either media. Because these characters are manly fucking men that can all hold their own and fight without words, yet still somehow make you want to cuddle them. Because the action is startling and intense, the humor is filthy and fun, and the injuries and angst are plentiful.

Title: Losers Icons (assorted icons from The Losers comic)
URL: http://cinaea.dreamwidth.org/tag/losers
Icons free to a good home!

Author: storm petrel wrote: next of kin (we’re all born renegades); R; gen; Because it answers the question What would have happened if Max got to Jensen before Jensen ever joined the Losers? And the answer is: a roomba, a fist-pump emoticon, a bullet in the hip, a kidnapping, and some incompetent interrogation. It's a fast, funny, engaging story that gets in, gets the plot done, and gets right back out again. Two thumbs way up!

Author: [livejournal.com profile] pprfaith wrote White Noise; R; Cougar, Jensen; Shifter!boys and an awesome friendship fic between Cougar and Jensen.

Author: [livejournal.com profile] katemonkey wrote Email Archive #300-08-B ; G; Cougar/Jensen; Basically, it's the e-mail correspondence between Jensen and his sister throughout the movie. It's fun, it uses the canon framework (I like the canon!), and it refers to Clay and Roque as "Mufasa and Scar" which is reason enough to rec this.

Author: [livejournal.com profile] robinyj wrote Compromised; PG-13; gen, Jensen, Cougar, the Losers; A mission goes south and Jensen ends up a prisoner. Cougar's the one to get him out. Hurt Jensen, badass sniper Cougar - what's not to love?

Author: Maggie aka [livejournal.com profile] otherpervert wrote Punchline; R; Jensen, Cougar; Why this fic is awesome: Pre-movie, "how Jensen met the Losers" fic. It's a war story. This story is exactly what the title promises. I'm basically reccing it for the awesome punchline.

Author:[livejournal.com profile] mintyfiend wrote Forgive My Curiosity, but What Is That?; PG-13; Jensen/Cougar; Mission fic! \o/ Lines like: "Sweet baby Jesus," Pooch says. "Jensen’s teaching Cougar shit. We’re all doomed." Also, first time, Jensen POV, tentacles, self-sacrificing Cougar, and both of them kick ass and get hurt.

Author:[livejournal.com profile] marvinetta wrote Beer Before Liquor; R; Cougar/Jensen; One of my guilty pleasures: the Cougar/Jensen cockblocking trope. It's set post movie and has some of the most adorable team interactions right there at the beginning. The Losers go out to a bar (like "normal" people) and proceed to get stinking drunk. Aisha accuses Cougar of cheating at cards, Cougar cockblocks Jensen, there are misunderstandings that get cleared up, and Clay hates the music.

Author:[livejournal.com profile] mintyfiend wrote Like a Sitting Duck just Waiting for the Fall ; NC-17; Cougar/Jensen; It's blind date fic! Jolene sets up a date between Jensen and one of her friends and Cougar lets out his inner stalker. It's fun. It has lines like: "I don’t even want to know," Pooch says. Then, "Look, go; be...well, not yourself. Be someone cooler, badass, you know, all suave and shit." Jensen blinks. "So, what you’re saying to me is that I should be Cougar?" It's a fic that made me smile and thus made it on my rec list.

Author: [livejournal.com profile] ficsoreal wrote The Exception; NC-17; Cougar/Jensen, Pooch/Jolene, Clay/Aisha; This is a "how to push a guy into making the first move" kind of fic. In this particular case, Jensen, who is just insecure enough to be utterly charming, first hooks up with the wrong kind of woman and then Pooch and Jolene decide to move in on him. Cougar objects, which might've been the point. It's funny, but it's not humor. It's a dance of two people getting where they were heading for some time with a little help, and it's sweet sometimes and sexy, and sometimes you want to slap someone. It's good fic.

Author:[livejournal.com profile] maratonista wrote Badass Bookworm Part 1, Part 2; R; Cougar/Jensen; First and foremost, this story is a love letter to Jensen, hacker and spec ops badass. Maratonista's style is gritty, she doesn't waste space, and her Jensen is in an established relationship with Cougar and absolutely kick-ass to the point where it's almost a bit ridiculous at times... in other words, just like the movie (except for the guy on guy sex).
The story gives you both Jensen's POV of the events and Cougar's, and the discrepancies between the two are what makes this fic so utterly enjoyable.

Author[livejournal.com profile] emocezi wrote Shifter Verse (Note: This link goes to Emocezi's master list where you'll find the entire 'verse.); NC-17; Cougar/Jensen; Shapeshifters. Alpha/beta (read: D/s) dynamics. Tough as hell beta Jensen who doesn't take shit from any alpha. Hot sex. Shapeshifters in the military. World building. Guilty pleasures. Pack mentality. Fun with furry critters (caracal!Jensen is too damn cute for his own good, especially in combination with cougar!Cougar).
This 'verse is built around a premise that goes beyond "wouldn't it be fun if they were shapeshifters LOL?!" and actually makes the effort to create a world where the fantastical element of shapeshifting meets the military setting of The Losers without too much of a genre clash. The power plays and shifts between the characters are interesting and deliberate. Emocezi doesn't take the easy way out and make Jensen a happy little submissive; his struggle to maintain his position in a unit of alphas lies at the core of her stories.
If you like multi-layered shapeshifter AUs, this is your kind of fic.

Author: storm_petrel wrote The First Eight Don't Count; R; Cougar/Jensen; The story starts out as crack and turns into something you can't put down, because it's so well done. It's another shapeshifter AU, but of the "shapeshifting is NOT normal and the others don't know about it" variety. The basis for this is one of Jensen's lines from the movie: "Cats, man. Not to be trusted." and then it veers off into a Jensen POV exploration of what life is like for a soldier-turned-fugitive who moonlights as a house cat complete with circumstances eventually forcing him to reveal himself to his team. What makes it so awesome is that the author makes it work. Seriously.

Author: Nancy aka The Tenth Muse (no lj or dw listed) wrote Alone Time; NC-17; Cougar/Jensen; Sometimes all you want to read is a hot little PWP that features steamy sex and little else. Established relationship. Set in Bolivia after the helicopter crash, the night before the team meets Aisha at the cemetery. Cougar takes Jensen to a club, watches him dance, and indulges in some stress-relieving public sex.

Author: [livejournal.com profile] nilchance wrote
Title: Deep As I've Been Done; NC-17; kind of Jensen/Cougar/Clay; This is one of those fics you might like or not, depending on your preferences, but it's well written and I liked it, so here it is. Post-movie, "The Losers finally kill Max" AU. The story contains rape aftermath, traumatized Jensen, hurt Cougar, D/s issues, and slight daddy kink.

Author: James aka [livejournal.com profile] gilascave wrote
Title: Insomnio; est PG-13; Cougar/Jensen; Jensen and Cougar start sleeping together and Cougar doesn't get enough sleep anymore. Nice play with expectations in this fic, especially if you know that in the comics Cougar has PTSD.

Author:[livejournal.com profile] lex_munro aka Lex_n_karu wrote Salute Verse (You can also find this at Deviantart at http://lex-n-karu.deviantart.com/gallery/, but it's a bitch to navigate.); G to R; Cougar/Jensen; Note: I'm not sure this 'verse is finished, but the individual stories can stand on their own, so I'm reccing it here. The writing is amazing. "Salute" starts off a series of fics set pre-movie, dealing with Clay finding and assembling his team. Humor, military setting, Cougar wooing Jensen, and pay attention to the ongoing joke of poor, hapless recruits getting caught in the crossfire of the Losers' special brand of crazy.

Author: [livejournal.com profile] suiane
Title: For A Smile They Can Share the Night ; R; Cougar/Jensen; Jensen thinks Cougar has a thing for his sister. Cougar actually has a thing for Jensen. Jensen figures it out and promptly gets shot before they can settle things. Jensen's sister is not amused. It's a comedy of errors.
