Suggestions?

So, I'm drifting back towards the internets and wondered if people could point me towards some good fics (or communities) in the following fandoms:

Castle
Dollhouse
Watchmen (I've only seen the movie, but I'll be reading the book soon.)
X-men Noir (or Spiderman Noir)

Thanks. :)

Hee! And now I understand your icon! :D

Dollhouse: [livejournal.com profile] blank_dolls, [livejournal.com profile] dollhousefic, [livejournal.com profile] dollhouseflash, all good comms. If you check out my memories, you'll find "Dollhouse fic I love" or something to that effect. So far, I haven't seen anything much longer than 2k in the fandom, but what's there is pretty frakking good. I've also written a few myself, if you want to check them out.../self-pimp

Thanks hon! And self-reccing is always allowed. :D

And yay! I'm glad you understand my icon now. Hehehe.

Are there any particular characters or pairings you're interested in for Watchmen? There's a big rush of fics now, I could rec something specific so you don't have to wade through a lot of badfic.

I'm not really sure that there *are* specific pairings. I'm open to reading anything.

Jon was probably my favorite character, but not by much - so, if you've favorites, I'm interested! Thanks. :D

Jon's probably one of the most underrepresented characters in fics right now, unfortunately, but there are some excellent fics out there. I would rec all of [livejournal.com profile] i_am_your_spy's fics, especially her "Ordinary World" series. [livejournal.com profile] orangesparks has written some very good fics about rarer pairings and characters.

As for comms, there's:

[livejournal.com profile] watchmenfic
[livejournal.com profile] watchmen_slash
[livejournal.com profile] weekly_watchmen
[livejournal.com profile] owlblot (Dan/Rorschach slash)
[livejournal.com profile] dan_laurie

...and probably more I'm forgetting. (I'd personally recommend starting backwards in the archives and then working forwards...a lot of the post-movie release output is not good.) I'm working on a more comprehensive recs list that I hope to have up in the near future. (And it should be noted that most fics are bookverse.) Hope that helps!

The Watchmen fandom is currently a bit of a vole pit. I'm struggling to find really good fic. [livejournal.com profile] weekly_watchmen does have some promise, I think. There's also [livejournal.com profile] watchdom which is a catch-all community, and there's [livejournal.com profile] newfrontiersmen which is a l33t invitation-only community which is thus far rather lacking in fic, but if it picks up should at least have the benefit of quality control.

...Watchmen fic kind of scares me. XD

I'd love to see some Spider-man Noir fic. That was a fascinating universe. In fact, my muses may have to mull that over...:D

Oh, shiny! Please do!

[identity profile] milleniumrex.livejournal.com 2009-03-19 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
My first thought is that we didn't see Noir MJ or Gwen yet in that universe. :D

Ummm, yes, please... :)

Have you read My Body is a Cage by [livejournal.com profile] conceptofzero? It's genderswapped Rorschach that doesn't compromise the character in the least. It's dark, but very good.
