RECS: Supernatural Gen
More Supernatural Gen Recs! Enjoy!
marinarusalka wrote A Fistful of Rain. PG. Five lives Dean Winchester didn't live. - These stories are not true, but the insights they give are very true. Touching and beautiful and, in a lot of cases, sad, the author reveals Dean in bits and pieces that eventually show us the Dean we know.
lyra_wing wrote There'll be peace when you are done. PG13. It sucks to know your fate. -This is a great fic that summarizes so much of Dean into a few words. It also holds up a pretty stark mirror to Sam, too.
pheebs1 wrote How I Will Change the World. PG13. Dean is forced to write the college application essay ‘How I Will Change the World’. - This is excellent Dean POV. Pre-series, but so very perfect.
autumn_lilacs wrote Warranty. PG. Impala POV, early S2 while Dean is fixing her back up. - This story is almost an outsider POV, but not quite. The Impala is as much of a main character as the boys. Beautifully done.
cofax7 wrote Warranty. PG. Bobby wouldn't call John Winchester's collection an archive. It's technically a miscellany; a random assortment of materials John's felt useful over the years. Most of it is material Bobby already has, anyway. But Bobby at least makes a habit of not tearing pages out of codexes in university libraries.. - These are brief snippets into Bobby's life, and through him, glimpses into the Winchesters. Really fantastic, with a touch of sadness.
poisontaster wrote An Early Afterlife of Ordinary Days (The Joy Luck Redux) . G. Jo climbs out of her car and leans back against the dust-filmed side to cover the trembling shakiness of her legs. It might help if they'd had more than a handful of angry, terse conversations in the past year, but they haven't. So there's her and her mom and enough stubborn between them to spawn a whole clan of mules. - I loved Ellen and Jo. This is what might have happened for them.
gigglingkat wrote Summer Camp . G. There were times when his seven year old son was mature beyond his years. This was not one of those times. John took it as encouragement. After a couple of rough years, Dean seemed to be coming out of his shell. He had made a friend in school. It was the first real connection that John could recall since Mary's death. It had opened up something in Dean that John was not going to let die without a fight. So when Marc's parents had mentioned the summer camp was still open, John enrolled Dean. He was slightly surprised by the reaction. - Funny and heartbreaking. John sends Den to summer camp. It goes about as would be expected.
