For [livejournal.com profile] mhalachaiswords, [livejournal.com profile] windian, [livejournal.com profile] rodlox, [livejournal.com profile] st_aurafina and [livejournal.com profile] invicta_affect, I give you FIVE Torchwood Recs!

Enjoy!

******

Sleeping My Way to the Top by [livejournal.com profile] sam_storyteller. I rec this because I have an abiding fondness for Jack/Ianto, but so few people get them right and this does. Jack's not perfect. Ianto isn't either. But they're trying. Or at least they're faking it until they have the strength to try again.

Pocket Watch Boy by [livejournal.com profile] mhalachaiswords. Oh, noes! I am breaking the rule not to rec my friends list to themselves, but it can't be helped. This is gorgeous work. I literally stayed at work until 11 one night just to read this. Do I have a mental illness? That is beside the point. Once you start reading this, you'll understand. Don't start at 7 pm at work one night and think it won't take that long to finish a few things and read, though. You've been warned.

Trying to Communicate by [livejournal.com profile] sam_storyteller. Same author, two recs. Yep, she's that good. And this fic is that funny. Spit warning. Drink warning. Boss is in the other room warning. HYSTERICAL FIC LIES HERE.

Letters of You by [livejournal.com profile] technosage and [livejournal.com profile] poisontaster. This is rated adult. Read with discretion. But do you remember my earlier comment about loveing Jack/Ianto? Well, if you share my love, read this. Have tissues on hand. Also, I believe there are spoilers here for Dr. Who, I don't know as I don't watch Dr. Who. But, whatever. It's all about Jack and Ianto.

Angels in the Architecture by [livejournal.com profile] ignipes. This is a Tosh centered fic. I hate that Tosh always seems to get the short end of the stick story wise - both in the show and in fic. This piece does a lot to ease that - and if Tosh isn't one of your favorites, because she is often presented as so shallow, read this and see if it doesn't change your mind. It's as beautifully written as the title suggests.

If you read and enjoy, please drop the author a note to let her know. And me, too, so I know what sort of stuff to keep an eye out for.

Enjoy, flist!
For [livejournal.com profile] dramady, [livejournal.com profile] indiefic, [livejournal.com profile] rodlox, [livejournal.com profile] musesinspire and [livejournal.com profile] livey1213, I give you FIVE T:SCC Recs!

Enjoy!

*****

Your Love is the Place Where I Come From by [livejournal.com profile] danahid. Sarah Connor had to make horrible choices that no mother should have to make. And she paid for it. This is gorgeous and it broke me a little bit. *sniffs*

To Keep Above the Water by [livejournal.com profile] fated_addiction. Derek Reese has issues most men can only dream about. This fic explores at least one of them. Obsession, hatred... they walk a thin line before they turn into something else. Derek/Cameron-ish in nature.

Five Days Out of a Lifteime by [livejournal.com profile] devra_01. I have a lot of love for this fic. It's beautiful and sad and poignant and shows us Sarah who is Sarah and not a gentler version of herself.

Keep the Home Fires Burning by [livejournal.com profile] indiefic. I loved this. It hurt in such good ways. John Connor is Sarah Connor's son, for better or for worse.

Four Times Kyle Drove Derek Crazy by [livejournal.com profile] cjedwards. The summary is in teh title and how could you NOT want to know about this? Besides that, it gave me chills. Several times. Excellent Derek characterization and a truly beautiful look at Kyle, too.

Recs: BSG

Jul. 22nd, 2008 04:49 pm
For [livejournal.com profile] sabaceanbabe and [livejournal.com profile] rodlox, I present TWO BSG recs.

Enjoy!

I'm still behind on BSG, so please, no spoilers for the latest episodes in the comments, please! Also, because I'm behind, these will be old school recs!

************

Aphrodite Moon by [livejournal.com profile] ingrid_m. I warned you! This is old school, but it was so beautifully done, I've always had a soft spot for it. Remember when no one knew who the cylons were? If you don't, you really need to read this again. Also, it's a beautifully done Gaeta/Cally.

Guns in the Temple by [livejournal.com profile] ishafel. Do you ever wonder why a certain fic doesn't get the response it deserves? I do with this one. This is brilliant, and heart breaking, and real, and brutally honest. I think, perhaps, it hits a little close to home? Because, who wants to fight a war on two fronts. Lee-centric and gorgeous.

Okay, so I lied. One more BSG fic for you. : )

Practical Language Policies of the Colonial Fleet by [livejournal.com profile] inlovewithnight. A really beautiful story about surviving and mixed signals. Just because the world ended doesn't mean everyone suddenly says what they mean, mean what they say, or even have a clue what they're talking about.
