Holiday Recathon 2008!

It’s time! The fandoms have been chosen, now all that remains is… making recommendations!

It’s easy enough.

What is the Recathon?

Did you ever want to read more of your favorite fic without having to write it? I know I do. So, the recathon was born. From now until December 11, please make as many recs as you can.

Beginning on December 13 (Saturday) and continuing one fandom a day until December 24, I will post a Master List of all the fics collected.

What Fandoms are represented?

Batman (any verse)
Burn Notice
Death Note
Doctor Who
Firefly
House, M.D.
Iron Man
James Bond
Supernatural
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

X-men (any verse)


What can I do to help?

Two things!

First, you can help advertise the Recathon by snagging one of these wonderful banners and cross-posting where allowed. Please direct people back to this post.

Second, you can make recommendations! Seriously, this will be precisely as successful as people make it. So, rec away!

How do I make recommendations?

It’s easy. Click on any of the above listed fandoms and it’ll take you to a comment. Then, leave your rec in the following format:

Author wrote Title of Fic – url to fic. (Rating) (Pairing). Any comment you’d like to make, although this isn’t required.

Please include both the title of the fic and the url address.

What sort of fics can I rec?

Anything. All fics, any rating, any pairing, any subject is welcome. Fics do NOT need to be holiday themed to be recced!

Can I rec a crossover?

Absolutely! Crossovers are welcome.

If you want to make a crossover that features more than one of the fandoms, feel free to put it in both categories, or just one. Your choice.

For the sake of my sanity, please make crossover recs the following way:

Crossover: Fandom/Fandom: Author wrote Title of Fic – link to fic. (Rating) (Pairing). Any comment you’d like to make, although this isn’t required.

Can I rec something off LJ?

Yes, you may. But, you must include the author’s information.

Will the authors know who recommended them?

Nope. All recs will be anonymous. I will be screening comments, so no one will know who made what rec.

I don't see any recs/any recs except my own. What gives?

There will be an unveiling with a Master List! So, make sure you rec anything you feel deserves some additional notice. Other people may have recced it, but they may not have.

Is there anything I shouldn’t rec?

Do not rec WIPs (Works In Progress).

I'm not forbidding self-recs, I just ask that you make them judiciously.
