Sometimes, in her dreams, Willow caught glimpses of herself in a mirror or window and thought she looked different. The fuzzy pink sweaters were gone, her hair was shorter, and her eyes were solid black. Even worse, her eyes were completely dead inside, like dream-Willow had survived the end of the world and saw nothing worth living for anymore.
When she woke up, sweating and shaky, Willow would go to the bathroom and stare in the mirror. Her hair was still long, her eyes were normal, and she could smile if she thought about something funny or someone she loved. Life had it's bumps and bruises, but it was still worth living.
When she'd finally go back to bed, Willow would clutch her pillow and promise herself that it was just a dream and nothing in dreams could hurt her.
Too bad she knew better.
