Title: Denial
Author:
wizefics
Characters/Pairing: Elrond, Elladan, Elrohir
Rating: All Audiences
Warnings: None
Book/Source: LOTR - movieish, but not really
Disclaimer: Not mine, but Tolkien wanted to build a mythology and I think that gives me the right to play in this sandbox.
A/N: written for the weekly drabble challenge at
tolkien_weekly - "Sixth Sense"
They were perfect. From their tiny fingers wrapped around their Adar’s thumbs to the tips of their ears, rounded every so slightly in acknowledgment of their heritage - they were indescribably beautiful.
Elrond stared at them, awed and felt his chest swell with pride. When his vision turned suddenly dark and he smelled blood and heard screams and battle cries, it shook him to his core.
Shaken, he pushed the vision away. Such predictions did not always come to pass and he could not reconcile the enraged and grief stricken screams with the soft endearing gurgles of his newborn sons.
