ficwizeI searched long and hard for fics that were genuinely scary. In honor of Hallowe'en tomorrow, and in acknowledgment of the shows basis in the dark, twisted and macabre, I present my last set of recs for the month.

buffyaddict13 wrote The Thin Ice.R. An average hunt turns deadly when a mysterious hunter kidnaps Sam and Dean, determined to exorcise a demon from Sam in order to "save" him. Sam and Dean insist Sam's not possessed but Libby doesn't believe them, and with good reason. Libby has proof Sam Winchester's a killer and she's not going to let him go. Written for Supernatural/JSquared Big Bang. -I didn't realize this was a Big Bang fic when I started and I'm glad I didn't. I would have hesitated, and this is one of the most compelling fics I've read. It was truly scary and amazingly detailed. It's also about an OFC, but please don't let that stop you. It's fantastic and the story ultimately is about the Supernatural world, and Sam and Dean's place in it.

I'm not the one moving my body. - This is disturbing, there is no denying it. But it looks at something the show often doesn't – consequences. What does it mean to be possessed? This fic spares no detail. Read with the lights on.
fleshflutter wrote Dealing With the Devil. PG13. I didn't read the summary before I read and I’m glad I didn't. I urge you to go in without reading the summary, too. But, just in case - evil!Dean fic. Despite the fact that this is in second person, this I an absolutely incredible fic and the POV only heightens the impact at the reveal.

He gets what that means. In God's hands. He used to wonder what it was about those words that made people say them with that universal look of dreamy-eyed wonder. Now he knows. It is like dreaming. Just not in the way he would have thought. -What is it like, to be a real instrument of God?
