Yes, I am tha far behind, but... I bought it, then life made me not care about much, then I lost it, then I moved, and now I've found it and read it all last night/this morning. I also have Volume 23, which I will probably read tonight.
The curse broke. And we got to hear the whole story of the cat. And Kyo faced his father (whom I loathe, although I understand that he's a bit out of his own mind). And Kyo and Tohru are together. And Yuki and Machi are together. And Ayame and Mine are together!!
And everyone cried. I found that fascinating, but completely believable.
Okay, so some coherent ramblings - what exactly broke the curse?
It seemed like it was Akito's decision, but if that's the case, why did she ever let go of Kureno?
I'm anxious to read the last volume and see what happens, but I've warmed to Akito - even though she went insane and stabbed people recently - and I think that she's been manipulated her entire life and I hurt for her. I'm glad that Kureno and Tohru aren't holding it against her.
The scene with Kyo's father... I'd kind of like to slap him stupid, then I want to suggest he get therapy. What a horrible person, so very selfish and caught in his own pain that he lashed out at his child.
But then, we see Kyo with Shishou and... that's really his father anyway. That scene made me melt, because damn, Kyo needed a hug right about then.
But, bar none, my favorite scene was the one with Yuki and Kyo, where they finally managed to come to grips with each other (literally to some extent). Poor dumb boys, but they need each other. I wonder if they realize that they've become best friends through this whole mess - they hate each other, but they depend on each other too much to be anything but.
