Murphy set his shot glass across the table and glanced at Conner as he refilled both their glasses. He could see that his twin was thinking on something. It was obvious in the way that Conner squinted. That tell-tale line that sprang up between his eyebrows.
Despite himself, Murphy grinned. Whatever dangerous idea Conner had this time, Murphy would be ready for it. His could feel his chest swell with pride as he looked at his brother. For all the faults his brother had, and no one knew them better than Murphy, no one could ever describe him as “indifferent.”
