joyeuxnoel gave me the letter "J" - and here's what I came up with!
1. Jack Harkness. What can I say? I'm a sucker for men in long coats, with dashing smiles, cocky attitudes, a hint of ruthlessness, who also happen to be damn sexy. My first real interest in Jack, after noticing that John Barrowman is truly good looking, came from the very real willingness he has to let his people clean up their own messes or face the consequences, however terrible they might be. I like that about him. It makes him more than the typical good looking, noble hearted, doormat of a hero that some shows offer.
Also, the real!Jack Harkness is amazing and made me cry like a school girl.
2. James Bond. He's on the list for a lot of the reasons that Jack Harkness is. Only, my fascination with Bond, James Bond came from Casino Royale and it happened in the first three minutes of the movie. I love that the new!Bond is portrayed as a bit of a sociopath. It's realistic and gritty and makes teh character so much more interesting than he was when he was just a polished alcoholic womanizer. At least, it does in my opinion!
3. John Connor. He breaks my heart. He had no choice in his life, only... he did. He basically created himself knowing that one day he's going to have to do it all over again. What a horrid situation to be in. Not to mention the end of the world and all, which is somehow his responsibility to stop. And damn if that isn't a plot bunny I'll be coming back to eventually. *lol*
4. Juliet O'Hara. I love Jules! She's utterly adorable, but she is the epitome of a woman doing well for herself in a predominantly man's world. She's a good detective, arguably better than her senior partner, who doesn't have to resort to cattiness, bitchiness, or sex to get ahead in the world.
5. John Winchester. I almost didn't include John, and almost went with Jones, Ianto instead, but since I'd managed 4/5 characters with a J first name, I figured I'd go for 5/5 and I do love John. He's broken, so very broken, and yet... I think he really did do the best he could under the circumstances. I do not think he was a good father, but I think he tried and sometimes that counts for more than anything else.

Date: 2008-09-08 04:09 pm (UTC)Almost too much hot to bear. *grins*
And a crossover with the two of them would be rather incredible... *fans*

Date: 2008-09-08 03:55 pm (UTC)Jack is definitely became a more well-rounded charater in Season 2. He does balance that dark side with the flirtatious side we saw more of in Dr. WHo. - I love the charater
I love Jules - she is just so darn adorable. She deserves a medal for putting up with Lassie.
I agree about Jonh W. - Did the best he could or at least what he thought was the right thing - too bad it often wasn't
So hit me.

Date: 2008-09-08 04:11 pm (UTC)She does and she does it so well. Also, she puts up with Shawn and does that with real skill and finesse. I love the episode where she finally told him off for being flippant. Of course, I also love that he responded with, "Wow. That was hot."
*adorks Shawn*
Okay! *slaps you with L*
