Still Yuletide Reccing

I will eventually get through the archive... for the first time. Then, I'll go back through and make sure I didn't miss anything! And I'm only reccing a few of the gorgeous fics there. I'm beyond impressed at the quality of yuletide ficcers!

Hook - Tomorrow On growing up and Neverland. Beautiful ficlet, I loved it so.


The Incredibles - Fabulous Edna on... Edna. Just awesome! Laugh out loud funny and pitch perfect.

Independence Day - Our Endless Work Down Here in Paradise - The world didn't end. What next? This is a fantastic fic that looks at the struggles of rebuilding what was lost, accepting that which cannot be rebuilt, and moving forward. This also has a surprising slash pairing which I'd never seen watching the movie, but found strangely compelling by the time the author finished.

The Silmarillion - Not marble, nor the gilded monuments - Oh, Glorfindel. This is stunning in what is managed in so few words. Beautiful and sad, immortality is not all it's cracked up to be.

Legend - Folly - This is a great glimpse into the dark world of Legend and captures the immortals confusion and inability to intervene. Great fic that has been woefully unappreciated!

Tin Man = Awesome (and some Recs)

I've finished watching Tin Man and oh... oh oh oh. So good! I'm all atwitter. *lol*

Mostly because I'm in lust love with Cain. Whose *ahem* better attributes are featured in my icon.

And that's totally not true. I can't explain how much I love Cain... I just don't think its possible. He reminds me of Mal from Firefly (and when I saw an icon of his backside with the words 'Captain Tightpants,' I both cheered and snorted water almost out my nose). The story is awesome and complicated and well done enough that I can over look the few flaws I found (rather flat acting in a few places... shhh!).

Anyway, the wonderful thing about the internet is that other people always like the things I like. So I went looking (and in the case of mhalachaiswords, I didn't have to look far as she was on my flist! Wheee!) and found some fic and some communities! So I thought I'd share in case anyone else was interested.

Fic Recs:

To Sleep, Perchance by mhalachaiswords - A beautiful look at what life after the battle must have been like for one very misunderstood princess. This is an Az focused piece, with mentions of Cain and DG. It is beautiful and well done.

Turn to Gray by lizzelda is a DG/Cain piece that picks up immediately following the miniseries. This fic was really well done, in my opinion, because it acknowledges that life existed before the miniseries and that all the complications and problems that exited before still exist. Gorgeous characterizations.
