Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today!

I have no idea how one goes awasselling, but it sounds like fun to me. I could use more fun, I think. Speaking of fun, two days left until the end of the Recathon and three days until Yuletide! Both of these events fill me with fannish glee. I'm excited about reading and plan to spend a large part of the last of the year doing just that.

Yuletide:

* My story is written and the betas have returned it to me. I posted in advance of the deadline, so I do need to make edits... but I'll consider it a victory at this point.

* I wrote a very random treat. It wasn't even the one I went looking for, but I kind of like it.

* Does anyone know if the pinch hits from this morning were claimed? I don't see an email one way or the other and that makes me fret. I want to be able to upload treats and I want to know that everyone will have a story. *fret*

* I definitely plan to write at least one more treat. Maybe two. Of course, if I run out of time, so be it. :)

How are you guys doing? Everyone done with all their holiday related ficathons? I'm nosy and would like to know, so... hit me with details!

I believe that Ellen said that if you don't receive a response to your pinch-hit offer, you weren't the first one. You're still welcome to write a story and upload it, you're just not the "officially assigned" person.

At least, that's my understanding.

As for me, I have finished my 4.5K Yuletide story, which is the first thing I've ever written on my own. (I have a couple of co-written pieces, one of novel length, but this was my first try without the training wheels.) I'm not waiting impatiently for the archive to open, both to read all the other stories, and to see how mine is received.

And I'm up to the K's in reading the Torchwood recs, with several other fandoms waiting for when I'm done with those. I've only archived one story to keep permanently on my computer, but I've enjoyed most of them. Thanks for organizing it!

Actually the pinch hit list went bust and a new one had to be set up so tons of pinch hits have come in on the new list.

Go check [livejournal.com profile] yuletide_admin for the info.

True, and useful, but I don't think it contradicts anything I said.

And as long as I'm commenting to you, I ought to mention that I've been working my way through the Criminal Minds fanfic archive on LJ, and your name is one of the ones I'm always happy to see, because I've quite enjoyed the stories you've written.

No, it doesn't, but I figured the information would be useful to both of you, thus my reply to you instead of just a new comment.

And thank you! I just released a CM big bang which I don't think anyone has read sadly (I have a bad habit of saving my good fic for December when no one is reading LJ /sigh/) but I did get a few decent CM fic out this year and some fun CM crossovers. It's nice to hear they are getting read and enjoyed.

I SUCK HARD at fic finishing, but I've got a one-shot I'll be posting soon. I hope. :)

And if we lived closer, I'd totally go awassailing with you. I take it that it involves us singing loud raucous carols, and then getting beer in return. I see nothing wrong with this.

Your story is awesome! Your recipient's a lucky person.

I've finished and uploaded my Yuletide proper, and my JBBS. However, I'm stalled on my WFGE and 12days of clois (both mostly finished) and am procrastinating distracting myself with YULETIDE MADNESS!

I haven't read any of the fanworks from the Holiday recathon yet, but I'm planning massive reading after the holidays.

I've uploaded my assigned Yuletide story and one Treat that was almost as long. I'm currently working my way through the source material for another Treat which I think might hit at least 1000 words and then I'd like to do a couple shorter ones, too. I finally finished all my work for this semester and so am taking today and maybe tomorrow off for fun things.

And also for drinking hard cider, which is a fun thing, but which doesn't really seem like alcohol to me, maybe because for awhile I was waking up and having fresh nonalcoholic cider for breakfast, and so I don't even feel bad that I drank my first one before 8 a.m. this morning and am now on my third.
