Awasselling we will go

I have no idea how one goes awasselling, but it sounds like fun to me. I could use more fun, I think. Speaking of fun, two days left until the end of the Recathon and three days until Yuletide! Both of these events fill me with fannish glee. I'm excited about reading and plan to spend a large part of the last of the year doing just that.
Yuletide:
* My story is written and the betas have returned it to me. I posted in advance of the deadline, so I do need to make edits... but I'll consider it a victory at this point.
* I wrote a very random treat. It wasn't even the one I went looking for, but I kind of like it.
* Does anyone know if the pinch hits from this morning were claimed? I don't see an email one way or the other and that makes me fret. I want to be able to upload treats and I want to know that everyone will have a story. *fret*
* I definitely plan to write at least one more treat. Maybe two. Of course, if I run out of time, so be it. :)
How are you guys doing? Everyone done with all their holiday related ficathons? I'm nosy and would like to know, so... hit me with details!

Date: 2009-12-22 09:44 pm (UTC)At least, that's my understanding.
As for me, I have finished my 4.5K Yuletide story, which is the first thing I've ever written on my own. (I have a couple of co-written pieces, one of novel length, but this was my first try without the training wheels.) I'm not waiting impatiently for the archive to open, both to read all the other stories, and to see how mine is received.
And I'm up to the K's in reading the Torchwood recs, with several other fandoms waiting for when I'm done with those. I've only archived one story to keep permanently on my computer, but I've enjoyed most of them. Thanks for organizing it!

Date: 2009-12-22 10:06 pm (UTC)And as long as I'm commenting to you, I ought to mention that I've been working my way through the Criminal Minds fanfic archive on LJ, and your name is one of the ones I'm always happy to see, because I've quite enjoyed the stories you've written.

Date: 2009-12-22 10:10 pm (UTC)And thank you! I just released a CM big bang which I don't think anyone has read sadly (I have a bad habit of saving my good fic for December when no one is reading LJ /sigh/) but I did get a few decent CM fic out this year and some fun CM crossovers. It's nice to hear they are getting read and enjoyed.

Date: 2009-12-23 06:07 am (UTC)I've finished and uploaded my Yuletide proper, and my JBBS. However, I'm stalled on my WFGE and 12days of clois (both mostly finished) and am
procrastinatingdistracting myself with YULETIDE MADNESS!I haven't read any of the fanworks from the Holiday recathon yet, but I'm planning massive reading after the holidays.
