Challenge Me!

So, 2012 is here and whether the world ends or not, it's gonna be a hell of a year.
So, challenge me to do something! Make it fun, make it pointed, make it difficult, make it meaningful, whatever, just don't be a douche and make it impossible - that's not fun.
Then, I shall promise two things. First, I shall make a valiant effort to accomplish it. AND, I shall write about it when I do it.
I'll compile a list, too, and put it up here.
Also, I'm not going to hide any of this stuff, so if you want to be crude or vulgar, you're gonna have to do it in the open. ;) (Not that this will stop many/any of you.)

Date: 2012-01-03 10:28 pm (UTC)In terms of a writing challenge I would be interested to see you take on a modernization of the older stories in literature (Frankenstein, for example) being framed as a series of letters. There are so many varied forms of communication these days, even among the entirely-text forms of communicating, and only a few pieces of media have made use of the modern forms as a narrative framing device.
This second challenge might be especially interesting in exploring the relationship between Hank McCoy and Abigail Brand. They are so often apart, busy with their teams in saving the world, and if you look at the timeline of the comics they're featured in it seems like what little time they get to spend together could lead to a complex and emotionally rich series of correspondences, which may even be the major form in which their relationship exists. Contemplating the contrast between Abby and Hank's writing styles, wondering who would open up via correspondence, or how these messages would intertwine through their mostly-separate lives, even explaining moments in canon where they seemed not quite themselves because their minds were elsewhere, offers a pretty big sandbox to play in!
