A few notes:

Author's Note: I was amusing myself by imagining Kirk attempting to be an authority figure and this is what happened. - Seriously? This fic is already a classic of New Trek. It's funny and awesome and insightful and just nails the character voices perfectly.

crimsonclad wrote cut and fucking paste . pg-13. Author's Note: "ack the mindmeld gave me feeeeeeelings" - This handled the K/S relationship in a different and very believable way.

the_dala wrote The Usual Wear and Tear . NC-17. Kirk/McCoy. Author's Note: I woke up at 7:30 this morning because "We need to get you changed" popped up and said HAI YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO FIC ME and I was like, okay, I'll give you an hour and 700 words, tops, and then THIS happened. - I found myself enjoying Kirk and McCoy most during the film (and wanting more afterward). This fic, from McCoy's POV, sort of explains why…

nomadicwriter wrote Uhura, listening . G. This is a comment fic that explores Uhara, her job, and her eventual relationship with Spock. It's amazingly complex and beautifully written, for all its shortness.

loneraven wrote A Formal Dance in the Bowling Alley . PG. Author's Note: Here are some things that James Tiberius Kirk, Captain, does not understand about the Enterprise and her crew. A real gem – this captures all the characters so wonderfully!

svilleficrecs wrote Observe . NC-17. Spock/Uhara with vague Spock/Kirk tones. Author's Note: "Spock/Uhura, Kirk as voyeur - I almost didn't read this, but dear lord, I'm glad I did. This is subtle and then it's powerful. Amazingly well done.
